Please let us know if you are a Carer, as you could be entitled to a free flu vaccination.
Please see Useful Numbers for information about Enfield Carers' Centre, and Barnet Carers' Centre.
At what age should children have the Nasal Spray Flu Vaccine?
In the autumn/winter of 2019/20, the vaccine will be available free on the NHS for eligible children, including:-
  • Children aged 2y and 3y on 31 August 2019 (that is, children born between 1 September 2015 and 31 August 2017)
  • Children aged 2y to 17y, with long-term health conditions
We have been informed that GP Practices should expect delivery of Children's Nasal Flu Vaccines in mid-October 2019.  Vaccines will be delivered in October 2019 (date to be confirmed).
Parents / guardians of eligible children can contact The Southgate Surgery after 17 October 2019 to find out whether the vaccines have been delivered, and when the Children's Nasal Flu Clinics will start, so they can make an appointment.
Specific clinics will be held for children's nasal flu vaccinations, so if parents / guardians are unable to attend the first available clinic, they can make an appointment in the next specific clinic, as these vaccinations cannot be given in a regular nurse-led clinic.
Please do not be offended when our staff explain this to you.
To protect your child, we would recommend that you try to attend the first available clinic.

Our Results Line can be contacted Monday to Friday 2.00-4.00pm
If you are unable to attend your appointment, it would be appreciated if you could please contact the Surgery and cancel your appointment so we can offer it to another patient. Thank you.

We welcome your feedback - Please ask reception for a FFT Form.

A new vaccination programme has been introduced for all 17 and 18 year olds.
Please contact the Surgery to see if you are elibible for the Men ACWY vaccination.
We are now able to offer Interpreting Services. Please let the surgery know prior to your appointment, which language will need to be interpreted, so that we can inform the Doctor.

We are committed to promoting infection prevention and control within this Surgery. Please see a member of staff if you have any concerns.
When telephoning for an appointment, if you think that you / your child may have an infectious condition, please inform a Receptionist, so that we can accommodate your needs, whilst maintaining the safety and wellbeing of other patients / staff.

As we are no longer able to offer blood tests at The Southgate Surgery, please call 020 8887 2143, Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 4.30pm, to make an appointment to have your blood test done at one of several locations. Please ask at Reception for more information.

All patients at this Practice have a named GP. If you would like to know who this is, please ask at Reception. This will not change the level of care you currently receive and any patient can still see any GP at this Practice.

Download the 'myGP' app
You will then be able to book appointments on your phone.

When we have no routine or urgent appointments available, you can visit one of our local Hubs.

Local hubs use the premises of these local Surgeries - they are separate from the Surgeries.

From Tuesday 1 October 2019, there will no longer be any walk-in access at any of the 4 local GP Hubs (Eagle House, Evergreen, Woodberry, Carlton House).

Access will be by bookable appointments only, made via your GP Practice.

If any patients arrive as a walk-in at any of the 4 hubs, they will be:-

  • Triaged, and offered a bookable appointment, or
  • Advised to visit their GP Practice, or
  • Directed to an alternative NHS service, or
  • Advised to self-care, if clinically appropriate

To make an appointment for an urgent or routine appointment at one of our local Hubs, please call The Southgate Surgery on tel: 020 8440 9301, as we have access to their appoitnment system and will be able to book you an appointment to be seen.

Please do not go to any of the Hubs without first booking an appoitnment through this Practice.

Appointments will be available Monday to Friday 6.30-8.00pm; Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays 8.00am to 8.00pm.
